Holiday Farm Pian De Cortini

The History

Pian de' Cortini farm, which dates back to the middle ages, is situated in the National Park of Casentino, Monte Falterona and Campigna. The Park is a true natural treasure, famous for its pinewoods and nature reseverves. The farm belonged to the local monks of Camaldoli until 1800 at which point it passed into the hands of a local family. Today guests are invited to enjoy the same medieval atmosphere. When the house was built during the 12 th century, it was originaly used as a toll house for salt merchants who were travelling through the forest to Cervia. After it became home for several farming who worked the land many centuries. Today pure honey is produced on the farm as well as many fruits and herbs including rosmary, sage, bay, mint, lavander. During the warm summer nighits the heady scents can be felt all around the house. From may to half way through october there is a swimming pool for guests.
